Improved Bus Fleet
Newcastle Buses recently took delivery of nine new buses as part of a $250 million state-wide investment by the NSW Government.
The new buses are part of a group of 26 for Newcastle which will be delivered between now and February 2008. They will operate from the new Hamilton and Belmont bus depots.
The new Euro 5 clean diesel buses feature the latest in environmental technology. Additional features of the buses include
- Low-floors, fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers
- Air-conditioning
- Designed to meet the highest safety standards for drivers and passengers
- Security measures to combat vandalism - tear, scratch and graffiti-resistant seats
- Digital CCTV featuring five cameras
